Larry Coomer [1943?]


Larry Coomer, 77, of Palmer died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002, at Central City Care Center.

Mr. Coomer was born Feb. 9, 1925, at Tacoma, Wash., to Lawrence and Ethel (Cushman) Coomer. He attended schools in Moclips, Wash.; Brown's Military Academy in Pacific Beach, Calif.; and graduated from Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Wash., with a degree in mechanical engineering.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II both as a mechanic and flying missions over Europe, Asia and Africa.

He married Wilma Prichaska in 1974. He taught in Irving, Texas, for two years, then moved to North Platte for four years and taught at Mid-Plains Tech College. He then taught at Metro Tech Community College in Omaha for 17 years. The couple had been living in Palmer for several years. His wife died in 1999.

Survivors include a son, Kurt, and a daughter and son-in-law, Valle and Allen Coomer-Pon, all of San Diego, and a grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife.
