Robert Wesley Geith [1944]


Robert Wesley Geith was born in Riverside, CA on June 13, 1926. He attended Riverside schools, Brown Military Academy in Pacific Beach, Riverside Community College, Creighton University and received his Masters Degree in Education from the University of Southern California.

He Served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict.

After his military service, Robert became an elementary school teacher, a principal and an administrator for Riverside County Schools and the Riverside Unified School District. He taught various education seminars for local colleges and universities and volunteered for many education projects.

For the last 18 years of his life, Bob supervised the training of student teachers for Chapman University, National University and California State University, San Bernardino. At the time of his death on February 28, 2005 he was supervision 15 students for Cal State.

Bob's greatest joy was his work in education and he dearly loved his time in school classrooms. He touched the lives of many hundreds of students.

Bob also loved big band music, jazz, photography and trains. He was very active in his churches Emanuel Lutheran, Grace Lutheran and Our Savior's Lutheran. He was very, very proud of his family and his Riverside heritage.

He is survived by his sons Robert Charles, Jon Christopher and Richard Scott; grandchildren Bobby, Christina, Daniel and Julie and by his wife Jackie; stepchildren Amy Cullen, MD, Steve Cullen and step-grandchildren Connor and Chloe. Services were held for Bob Geith at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 5th at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Banning.
