Earl "Duke" Welliver '53 [October 2004, Reunion 2005 Chairman] This Reunion will have special meaning for me as it will be without my Best Friend, Jack Lowrey '53. As some of you know, he passed away this year from a tough bout with cancer.

Jack and I met at BMA in 1949 and remained close until his passing. We were in business together, went on vacations together, and our children grew up together. If it were not for BMA, we would have never met and shared a lifetime of brothership together.

When I gave the Eulogy at his funeral, I remarked that we were not brothers by blood but by shared experience. (All of us are brothers by shared experience.)

I have spent many nights remembering our times at BMA. We both always remarked what great times we had at the Academy and all the other cadets that we kept in touch with.
